Indian Vedic astrology (Jyotish) usually starts with your Moon sign, called Janma Rashi. It also uses nakshatra (a smaller Moon zone) and rising sign (Lagna) when you have birth time. It uses sidereal star positions. That is not the same math as Western sun-sign columns.
