Today's Western tropical reading for Leo (Jul 23 – Aug 22) on Friday, October 23, 2026. This page is the dated daily note for one sun sign. It is not a glossary. Today's Leo reading
On Friday, October 23, 2026, this page shows a Western tropical sun-sign note for Leo. Tropical astrology is the sun-sign calendar most daily horoscope apps use. Leo covers Jul 23 – Aug 22 on this site. It is a fixed fire sign (steady and hard to push off course) ruled by Sun. Today's focus is money & resources.
Leo sits in high summer on the tropical calendar. It is a fixed fire sign. This site lists the Sun as the ruler. That is unusual. Most signs share a planet. Leo gets the Sun itself. Fixed fire means be seen honestly, lead with heart, and keep pride from turning into a show. Popular daily notes talk about creativity, loyalty, and respect.
Leo season follows Cancer and holds the middle of summer. The date band on this site is Jul 23 – Aug 22. A daily Leo note often points to one place you can show up in full. Try a creative hour, a loyal check-in, or a room where respect goes both ways.

playful
Leo is a fixed fire sign ruled by the Sun itself. That is rare in astrology. Most planets rule one or two signs, but Leo gets the Sun. People often read Leo as warm, creative, and unwilling to hide in rooms that ask you to be smaller. Pride and playfulness show up a lot in popular descriptions. Leadership here may inspire rather than boss people around.
Leo often wants to be seen honestly, not just flattered. Loyalty and warmth flow when the heart feels respected. The same fire can turn into a show or a shutdown when dignity is dismissed. Leo is about how you shine and what respect means to you. Theater and honesty can both be part of the picture.
Element and modality

Example: one real birth date
A person born on August 5, 1990 has the Western sun sign Leo.
That same date is the Year of the Metal Horse in the Chinese year calendar and the Hazel moon on the Celtic tree calendar. Those systems do not copy the sun sign.
