Nawal
Glossary · Last updated: 2026-07-26
A nawal (plural nawales) is one of twenty day-signs in the Tzolk'in. Jaguar, Wind, Night, and so on in K'iche'-aligned spellings used in apps.
Each Gregorian date maps to a nawal plus a tone (1-13) in simplified arithmetic used for cultural learning outside ceremony.
Living tradition
Maya daykeepers hold these signs in ritual context. Our Mayan card is a respectful calculator, not initiation into sacred practice.
